At Northaven, Thursday grocery trips are more than a ride to the store, they are a helpful weekly routine that residents can count on. Most weeks, the bus heads to QFC Northgate, a familiar and nearby option for residents who prefer the grocery store they know best. Throughout the month, the schedule also includes a little variety, with trips to places like PCC, Town & Country Market, the QFC and Dollar Store on 145th, and Fred Meyer in Greenwood.
When there is a fifth Thursday in the month, residents sometimes get to try something new, such as WinCo, Saar’s Super Saver, or Ranch 99.
It is a simple service, but an important one. These grocery trips help residents stay independent, shop for the foods they enjoy, and continue making their own choices about what they eat and bring home. Anthony from the Maintenance team often comes along too, lending a helping hand with groceries and making the trip a little easier for everyone.
It is just one more way Northaven supports daily life, connection, and independence for the people who call this community home.
