Resident Spotlight: Angela Handley

ree

Angela Handley’s life has been shaped by travel, creativity, and remarkable resilience. Growing up abroad as a military child, she developed a global perspective early on, one that influenced her outlook and sense of community. Eventually, she settled in the Pacific Northwest, where she built a fulfilling career in massage therapy and nurtured her lifelong love of art and music.

In 2012, Angela’s life took an unexpected turn when she suffered a stroke. Through unwavering determination and creative expression, she rebuilt her life step by step—finding healing and strength in painting, baking, and forging meaningful connections with others.

Today, Angela is a vibrant part of the Northaven community, where she continues to thrive. She organizes monthly luncheons that bring residents together, extends a warm welcome to newcomers through meet-and-greet events, and actively participates in art classes both on campus and at a local college.

With the support of Northaven’s caring staff and like-minded neighbors, Angela has found a true sense of belonging—a place where her creativity flourishes and her quality of life is enriched every day.
