Know Your Rights & Accompaniment Information Session

Join Neighborhood Transformation on October 19, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. in the Harbor Room to learn about your rights and ways to support others in our community. This informational session will cover two topics, with opportunities to learn, ask questions, and find out where to turn for support.
Know Your Rights
Learn what community members should know when encountering border or immigration enforcement agents. The session will cover basic rights, how to respond during an interaction with immigration officials, and where to find additional information and support. The goal is to help participants feel more informed, prepared, and confident about their rights.
The Accompaniment Program
Neighborhood Transformation will also introduce its Accompaniment Program, which connects trained community volunteers with individuals who may feel vulnerable or need a trusted person alongside them in certain situations.
The presentation will explain what accompaniment looks like, the roles and responsibilities of volunteers, and how community members can get involved.
Interested in Volunteering?
A separate Accompaniment Volunteer training will take place on November 2, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. in the Harbor Room. This training will provide additional guidance and preparation for those interested in participating as volunteers.
Everyone is welcome at the October 19 information session, including residents, staff, family members, and community members from outside Northaven. Please join us to learn, ask questions, and explore ways we can support one another and strengthen our community.
